I was driving home from the store today and started thinking about my friends wedding and wondering what it is the he "does". He was always a high achiever and one day even felt the need to explain himself when he dropped out of college. I imagined myself asking him what he is doing these days and then thought about what I would ask his new wife. What does she do? This then reminded me of all the girls out there and Young Women's leaders that I have had that felt inferior by saying "I'm a Mom". This then led to the following thought process.
If you are a Mom, and someone asks what you do, this is what you say.
You are manage and run a household manufacturing facility in ____________(your city)_______. You specialize in human development and culinary arts. You also manage textile processing and disinfecting in the fashion center. Certain times of year your attention is required in the horticulture or snow eradication. This is just the beginning.
You are also a nutritionist and manage meal planning and other health concerns on a daily basis. You have a minor in nursing and are first aid certified. You also run a library and hold regular readings and lessons. You are a product tester. Your opinion is so valued that commercials brag about meeting your approval. You also run a small chauffeur (it took me forever to figure out how to spell that) business that requires certification in child safety and driving performance. You run the books at your facility as well as schedules. You also are a child psychologist and entertainer. Not to mention you work 24 hrs a day. If they still aren't impressed. Let them know that you are a volunteer, and that you deserve a reward.
